    The Accounting Consultant we are looking for will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks within the Completion Contractor units within the Construction division of the company. The main purpose is the responsibility for monitoring the progress of projects to ensure day to day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, industry standards and company policy.  Create and maintain detailed cost and financial reporting to assist management in making business decisions and controlling expenditures. 



    • Review and analyze invoices and pay applications for correct payments, remaining contract values and accounting codes
    • Maintain project-related records including contracts, change orders, payment applications or invoices and labor compliance records
    • Collect lien releases, required insurance documents and certified payroll from subcontractors and vendors
    • Review and analyze billings to clients for accuracy and inclusion of all reimbursable costs and expense
    • Monitor and follow-up on client receivable payments and billing questions
    • Request and follow-up on subcontractor and vendor payments to ensure timeliness and adherence to contract terms
    • Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness; recommend corrections as necessary
    • Evaluate and analyze subcontractor claims or stop notices against contractors; assist in clearing all claims or notices
    • Evaluate and assist with ratification agreements, purchase orders and contracts
    • Assist in creating and maintaining coding for budgeted and actual costs; compare actual cost to budgets and identify reasons for variances
    • Maintaining and analyzing weekly and monthly accounting reports: Subcontractor status, project cost analysis, work in progress, etc.
    • Liaison between corporate accounting and project teams
    • Construction industry labor and accounting research
    • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
    • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the departments


    Position Requirements


    • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, Management or Finance


    • Construction accounting experience a plus
    • Experience with Deltek Vision accounting system a plus
    • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
    • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting
    • Fluent speaking French is a plus
