    Responsibilities

    Optistar Technology Consultants, Inc., a VERTEX company, is looking for a sharp IT Support Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience who welcomes the challenge of joining our team.  We are a small, growing, multi-national managed service provider (MSP).  Are you looking for a fast-paced atmosphere and working with other highly skilled team members? Are you looking for a company that believes in promoting from within, and the only limitation is defined by you?     The IT Support Engineer we are looking for will enjoy the challenge of working on several client requests from straightforward to complex.  The ideal candidate must carry them self well.  In order to thrive, the ideal candidate is highly professional at all times and has a patient, caring, customer service oriented way.

    The hours are from 8:00am – 5:00pm MST or 9:00 am – 6:00pm MST.

    Primary Responsibilities

    You will be triaging, supporting, troubleshooting and resolving all aspects of a customer’s IT environment including but not limited to:

    • Windows 7 and 10 computers
    • Mac OS X computers (experience a bonus but not required)
    • Mobile Devices (iPhone/iPad/Android/Windows)
    • Office 365
    • Network and Personal Printers and Scanners
    • Basic Networking Problems including Windows login and VPN
    • Wireless Access Points
    • Network Attached Storage devices
    • VOIP Phones and End User Portals

    Support lifecycle includes but not limited to:

    • Triage all incoming requests in person. via email and phone
    • Determine priority, create and track tickets in Autotask (our PSA)
    • Work support requests from troubleshooting to resolution for our worldwide customer base
    • Documenting resolutions in KB database

    Secondary Responsibilities

    • Move, Add, Change requests for end users accessing Cloud based systems such as Hosted Exchange, Cloud File Server, Office 365, etc.
    • Perform maintenance / basic repairs on computers
    • Assist Senior Engineering staff with setting up servers and infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, NAS devices, access points, etc.
    • Basic IT Training / Knowledge Transfer
    • Perform light system administration responsibilities

    Position Requirements and Qualifications

    In this position you will be interfacing directly with our worldwide customer base including small business owners. The ideal candidate will:

    • Have a minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an IT professional in a business environment
    • Have excellent verbal communication skills
    • Carry a professional, customer support attitude at all times
    • Be highly motivated and very responsive to client requests
    • Be ultra-diligent about documentation and following standard operating procedures

    • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal oversight

    Bonus Qualifications

    • Currently working or recently worked at a managed server provider (MSP)
    • Know the Autotask PSA tool well
    • Linux knowledge and skills
    • Scripting
