    Optistar Technology Consultants, Inc., a VERTEX company, is looking for a sharp IT Support Intern with 0-2 years’ experience who welcomes the challenge of joining our team.     The IT Support Intern we are looking for will enjoy the challenge of working on several client requests from straightforward to complex.  To thrive, the ideal candidate is highly professional at all times and has a patient, caring, customer service-oriented way.

    Primary Responsibilities

    You will be triaging and supporting IT Engineers with troubleshooting and resolving all aspects of a customer’s IT environment including but not limited to:

    • Windows 7 and 10 computers.
    • Mac OS X computers (experience a bonus but not required).
    • Mobile Devices (iPhone/iPad/Android/Windows).
    • Office 365.
    • Network and Personal Printers and Scanners.
    • Basic Networking Problems including Windows login and VPN.
    • Wireless Access Points.
    • Network Attached Storage devices.
    • VOIP Phones and End User Portals.

    Support lifecycle includes but not limited to:

    • Triage all incoming requests in person via email and phone.
    • Determine priority, create and track tickets in Autotask (our PSA).
    • Documenting resolutions in KB database.
    • Perform maintenance on computers.
    • Assist Senior Engineering staff with setting up new equipment.
    • Perform light system administration responsibilities.

    Position Requirements and Qualifications

    In this position you will be interfacing directly with our worldwide customer base including small business owners. The ideal candidate will:

    • Have a minimum 0-2 years’ experience in an IT setting.
    • Have excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Carry a professional, customer support attitude at all times.
    • Be highly motivated and very responsive to client requests.
    • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
    • Excited to take on new tasks and stay current with IT trends.
    • Eager to learn new things and be part of a team!
