    Responsibilities

    The Vertex Companies, Inc. is seeking a Southeast Regional Vice President (VP) to manage and grow our Environmental Consulting Services that we currently provide from our established Ft. Lauderdale and Bradenton, FL offices as well as our newly opened Atlanta, GA office. VPs are critical to our U.S. and global growth strategy and embrace our culture of urgency, entrepreneurship, honesty, integrity, safety, pursuit of value added services, and pride. The VP is responsible for building, right-sizing, and managing staff in their office, and to work with other VPs and Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs) to ensure our multi-discipline office approach is followed with efficiency and precision. VPs are also responsible for growing their respective vertical to meet minimum fee revenue goals, achieve defined profit goals, and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as set forth by the EVP.

     

    Core Responsibilities

     

     Business Development

    • Responsible for Southeast expansion and infrastructure growth.
    • Develop and implement an aggressive sales program to develop new accounts within the Environment Vertical.
    • Assist VPs & Division Managers with local business development.
    • Cross-sell other Service Areas to existing clients.
    • Monitor and utilize CRM in enhancing the Business Development efforts.
    • Develop and foster relationships with existing accounts.
    • Responsible for senior environmental consulting production work and for business development, client coordination, and the overall management of projects as well as mentoring of staff.
    • Be personally billable; based on targeted billability as set forth by the Environmental EVP.
    • Review office utilization on a regular basis, and make necessary adjustments to improve billability.
    • Foster business opportunities and assist in staff management of the other service verticals as needed.
    • Position may require travel.

    Considering the anticipated time required to complete billable production & develop business, your billable goal will be negotiable. However, this goal is flexible and can be modified based on marketing and management opportunities that best serve the company.

     

    Operations

    • Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy.
    • Review and maintain accurate Contracts for work within the Service Area, coordinating with Legal Counsel Vice President.
    • Ensure compliance of operations with all local, state and Federal (and International, if applicable) regulations, as well as compliance with Company Policy.
    • Ensure high quality on deliverables for the Service Area.
    • Maintain positive morale.
    • Ensure KPI’s are met for their Vertical.

    Position Requirements

     

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, science or engineering field (i.e.: Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, etc).
    • Advanced degree or certification not required but beneficial.

    Experience

    • Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience.
    • Proven track record of business development and staff management.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Experience in providing Senior Review for technical report deliverables.
    • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Able to provide oversight and direction to junior and senior level staff.
    • Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities, and have the ability to perform exceptionally under high stress conditions.
    • Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe) required.
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
